  • What is QbCheck?

    • QbCheck is a 15 or 20 minute long objective test that measures the three ADHD core symptoms; hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention. A test taker's result is analyzed and compared to the result of individuals of the same age and gender, with and without ADHD. The comparison makes it possible for QbCheck, based on objective data, to predict the likelihood of ADHD and provide healthcare professionals with information that can aid in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD.

  • What does QbCheck measure?

    • QbCheck measures a test taker's movements, ability to pay attention and impulse control during a 15 or 20 minute test.

  • How long does a QbCheck take?

    • The actual test is 15 minutes for children 6-11 years old and 20 minutes for individuals aged 12-60. In addition to this it is advised to allow preparation time (e.g. set up, instructions, etc).

Preparing for a QbCheck

  • What do I need to perform a QbCheck?

    • You would need a fairly new computer with a built-in camera or separate web-camera and an internet connection. The suitability of your computer and camera can be checked prior to a QbCheck as well as during the test set up. A QbCheck cannot be performed on a tablet or a phone.

    • A QbCheck can only be performed when using web browsers Google Chrome or Firefox. When using a different web browser, such as Internet Explorer, an error message will appear.

    • Choose a quiet room with a steady table and appropriate seating. For children 6-11 years old this would be a stool without armrests and backrest and for individuals from 12-60 years of age a chair with backrest but no armrests.

  • Do I need to download a program to run a QbCheck?

    • No, you don't have to download a specific QbCheck program, everything is managed online on our website. However, you need to use the Google Chrome or Firefox web browser.

  • Will the test taker be filmed during a QbCheck?

    • No images are captured during the test. The camera only measures how much a test taker moves. This means no film recording is made and no data will be stored that can link QbCheck results back to the test taker.

  • Is consent required to take a QbCheck?

    • If the test taker is under the age of 18, parental / guardian consent is required to start the test. If the test taker is 18 years or above, he or she will provide consent.

  • Who should be present during a QbCheck?

    • The test administrator should stay in the room and observe. It is important to sit diagonally behind the test taker, outside his/her and the camera's field of vision and remain quiet. Avoid interaction, as this could affect the result.

  • What factors could impact a QbCheck result?

    • Medications might affect a test taker's ability to pay attention and should therefore be taken into consideration when interpreting a QbCheck result. Alcohol must be avoided.

Technical Questions

  • Why is it important that the test taker is seated 60 cm/24 inches from the camera?

    • The distance from the camera needs to be ensured to obtain accurate activity measurements and results.

  • Why do you need to check my computer and camera?

    • The check is an important part of assuring that the test taker will be able to take a QbCheck on your computer. The computer needs to be fast enough and the camera must be able to detect and track the test taker's face in order. If you are not able to proceed beyond this check please try another computer and/or camera.

During the test

  • How long time does a test take?

    • The actual test is 15 minutes for children 6-11 years old and 20 minutes for persons aged 12-60.

  • What happens if a QbCheck is not completed?

    • A result will not be made available when a test is not finished. A completed test is required for an accurate norm group comparison and therefore a result cannot be generated in case of an incomplete test. Of course you will not be charged for a QbCheck that is not completed.

  • What happens if the test taker is unable to perform the practice test?

    • The test taker will be directed back to the instructions and prompted to run another practice test. The test taker will have to complete the practice test successfully before he or she can proceed with the real test. It is essential to ensure that a test taker understands the test concept, as lack of understanding may affect the validity of the result.
